The Global Game Jam 2014 was one of the biggest and most exciting things connected to game creation and art as a whole that happened to me. The whole idea of the event was to gather people that have passion for creating games and make them cooperate - programmers, animators, sound developers, graphic artists and illustrators - people split up in teams and start creating their games having 48 hours to do so. I was in a team with a friend of mine who`s a very good programmer and since we were only 2 people we barely slept =D
Starting from absolute scratch, we focused mostly on game mechanics and gameplay as a whole, as well as feeling. Our game is called "Light the Lamps" and the setting is one`s nightmare. It`s a point and click shooter and almost everyone at the Game Jam tried it and in the end we won the public`s award for best game.
Although I would recommend you try out the game by yourselves by downloading it from here http://lightthelamps.atspace.com (the file is completely clean), I also uploaded a few screenshots from the game in case you have no time.
